Community Outreach

One of the most fundamental duties prescribed to the Police Complaint Commissioner is that he develop and provide an outreach program to inform and educate the public in respect of his role in the police complaint process and his powers and duties under the Police Act.

The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner's outreach program raises awareness of the municipal police complaint process in British Columbia; promotes the objectives and core values of the Police Act & Code of Conduct; advances positive police/community relations; and encourages complainant/police resolution of complaints.
