Memorandum of Understanding

The Police Complaint Commissioner, together with 13 police departments and agencies, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support cooperative and efficient systemic investigations under the Police Act. This MOU clarifies important investigation procedures, including the coordination of document disclosure, interviews, and statements. It also includes processes for police departments and agencies to provide input for the Commissioner’s consideration on issues like the scope and methodology for systemic investigations. The MOU reflects the signatories’ shared interest in ensuring systemic issues are examined effectively and transparently under the Police Act.
