The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that the Public Hearing with respect to Constable Edgar Diaz and former Constable Michael Hughes of the South Coast BC Transportation Authority Police Service (SCBCTAPS) will be held on September 28th and 29th, 2017, at the Robson Square Courthouse, Room #109 at 9:00 am. The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that Discipline Authority Carol Baird Ellan and Discipline Authority Ian Pitfield have granted a request from former Chief Constable Elsner to adjourn the discipline proceedings pursuant to section 123(10) of the Police Act so that he may obtain new counsel after his counsel was recently appointed to the BC Supreme Court Bench. The Discipline Authorities determined that an adjournment was justified in the circumstances. View Release (.pdf)
