The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that dates have been set for the Public Hearing involving Constable Brian Hobbs of the Vancouver Police Department, before the adjudicator, Retired Judge Brian Neal. Preliminary applications are scheduled to be heard November 15, 2017, at the Robson Square Courthouse, Room #109 at 09:30am, in Vancouver.

The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that dates have been set for the discipline proceeding involving former Chief Constable Elsner, before Discipline Authority Ian Pitfield. The matter is scheduled to convene on January 15, 2018, and is scheduled for four (4) days. Discipline proceedings pursuant to the Police Act are not open to the public.

The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that Discipline Authority Carol Baird Ellan and Discipline Authority Ian Pitfield have granted requests from former Chief Constable Elsner to adjourn both discipline proceedings pursuant to section 123(10) of the Police Act.

The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that the Public Hearing with respect to Constable Edgar Diaz and former Constable Michael Hughes of the South Coast BC Transportation Authority Police Service (SCBCTAPS) will be held on September 28th and 29th, 2017, at the Robson Square Courthouse, Room #109 at 9:00 am. There will be a preliminary application for recusal of the adjudicator at that time.

The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that Discipline Authority Carol Baird Ellan and Discipline Authority Ian Pitfield have granted a request from former Chief Constable Elsner to adjourn the discipline proceedings pursuant to section 123(10) of the Police Act so that he may obtain new counsel after his counsel was recently appointed to the BC Supreme Court Bench. The Discipline Authorities determined that an adjournment was justified in the circumstances.
