How to File a Complaint

Although no official complaint form is necessary to file a complaint, the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner has created an on-line complaint form to make access to the process as easy as possible.

We have also created a complaint form that can be downloaded and printed.

A complaint can be delivered directly to our office in person or by Canada Post.

Municipal police departments must assist members of the public who attend their department in the filing of complaints.

However a member of the public chooses to access the process it is important that the complaint contain the complainant's first and last name, full contact details; date of birth; the name of the police department involved; where and when the incident being complained of occurred, and a detailed description of the event.
