The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that dates have been set for the continued hearing involving former Chief Constable Elsner, before Discipline Authority Baird Ellan. The matter has been scheduled for February 19, 2018 at 9:30am at Robson Square Provincial Court Room 109. Discipline proceedings pursuant to the Police Act are not open to the public. The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that the Public Hearing involving Constable Edgar Diaz and former Constable Michael Hughes of the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Police Service, before Adjudicator Ronald McKinnon, is set to proceed on January 5, 2018, for an Application. The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner wishes to advise the media that Discipline Authority Carol Baird Ellan convened the discipline proceeding for OPCC files 2015-11048 and 2015-11048-05 on November 21, 2017, to hear an application from former Chief Constable Elsner’s counsel. Discipline Authority Baird Ellan issued her decision on December 15, 2017, dismissing that application and has granted an adjournment to January 15, 2018, at which point she expects that the matter be set for hearing dates.
