VICTORIA – Adjudicator Wally Oppal, K.C., has issued a seven-day suspension without pay and made three recommendations following his finding that Constable (now Sergeant) Ron Kirkwood committed misconduct when he fired ARWEN rounds leading to the death of Lisa Rauch in 2019.

Victoria – Adjudicator Wally Oppal, K.C., is expected to hear submissions on disciplinary or corrective measures in relation to his finding that Constable Ron Kirkwood (now Sergeant) committed misconduct when he fired ARWEN rounds that led to the 2019 death of Lisa Rauch. It is also expected that the adjudicator will make recommendations concerning any changes to policies or practices.

VICTORIA –Adjudicator Wally Oppal, K.C., has determined that a Victoria police officer committed misconduct when he fired ARWEN rounds that led to the death of Lisa Rauch. He also determined that the manner and extent to which Constable Ron Kirkwood (now Sergeant) completed his notes of the event did not amount to misconduct.
